Proposed Paragraph 84 House
Proposed Paragraph 84 House
Working with our clients we knew this would be a challenge given the fact we were outside the village boundary and the village itself is designated as open countryside. This meant that the only option was to use a planning policy which is renowned as a very difficult option, but one where planning approval can be gained for sites where, otherwise, there would be little hope of gaining planning approval.
For this style of house we had to be innovative to stand a chance of gaining approval. We therefore developed a method of construction which used a knapped flint wall with thermally conducting mortar to utilise the heat from the sun. This heat would be taken through a series of pipes behind the flintwork to a heat pump, utilising this form of renewable energy.
